With all that is going on our world right now, I have wanted to do something tangible to contribute. I am excited to share a new t-shirt design and campaign with you: the Rise Up tee! The idea behind Rise Up is a call to action, a reminder that we can each stay awake and aware of what is happening inside our own minds and with the people around us, and do something small each day to be a beneficial presence in the world. We can each contribute toward creating a culture of peace by being in tune with our heart's wisdom.
By purchasing this t-shirt HERE, you're not only making a bold statement, you're also supporting the important work being done by several amazing organizations. Shipping is FREE and I will donate 50% of all proceeds to the five organizations listed below:
Step Up Women's Network: Step Up propels girls ages 13-18 living in or going to school in under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women. Step Up creates and implements impactful after-school and mentorship programs that are open to all girls enrolled in one of their partner high schools.
Freedom to Choose Project:
Freedom to Choose is transforming the lives of individuals impacted by incarceration through compassionate experiential education. Their award-winning educational programs teach practical communication, emotional competency and self-responsibility skills to men and women in prison, on parole and probation so that they may return to society and lead productive, successful lives.
Best Friends Animal Society
Best Friends is a nationwide animal rescue and advocacy organization, with spay neuter, TNR (trap neuter return), pet adoption and no-kill programs. I will be donating to their Hurricane Relief fund, supporting recovery efforts to help reunite pets with families, help animals turned into shelters find homes, and help Houston and Florida area rescue groups and shelters rebuild and recover.
Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research
The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research is dedicated to reducing gun-related injuries and deaths through the application of strong research methods and public health principles. As part of the School of Public Health, the Center examines the public health effects of guns in society and serves as an objective resource for policy makers, the media, advocacy groups, and the general public.
Americares is an efficient, accountable and highly respected, health-focused global aid and development organization. They deliver emergency medical aid and support ongoing health programs both in the U.S. and abroad. They are actively providing emergency aid to those affected by recent hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, the earthquakes in Mexico, as well as responding to ongoing crises and long-term initiatives all over the world.
